The online petition for the Gurkha Justice campaign (http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/gurkha/) has taken over 700 signatures in just 5 days, making it one of the fastest signed petitions on the Governments Petition web site. With over 1,100 petitions on the site, the Gurkha Justice petition is already in the top 50 most signed petitions.

The Gurkha Justice petition is a part of the campaign that saw over 1,000 Gurkhas and their supporters march on Downing Street in Westminster last Thursday to present a letter calling for fairer treatment of ex-Gurkhas.

There is more at the Gurkha Justice web site www.gurkajustice.org.uk on the campaign, which is calling on the Government to honour the 2004 pledge to give retired Gurkhas the right to become citizens of the UK on retirement and to pay retired Gurkhas a fair pension.

All those who support the campaign are urged to sign the petition before mid-February, when the petition closes and will be presented to the Government.
