Matt Horrox for Folkestone West

I moved to Kingsnorth Gardens in Folkestone with my family in 2015. My wife was born in Hythe and grew up in the area.
We have two kids and a dog and I run a business based in Folkestone.
If elected, my priorities will be to work with council colleagues and other officials to improve conditions for business and for job creation across Kent, but in particular in Folkestone.
I want to improve healthcare and social service provision, improve our transport network (including fixing our dreadful roads and specifically pushing to expedite the reopening of Road of Remembrance), and improving council services in Folkestone for all residents to enjoy.
In particular, I want to see the return of a full library service in Folkestone, better access to mental health support services (particularly for teens), improved youth and sporting facilities, and better more proactive social care for the most vulnerable and the elderly in our society.
I will work with officials and agencies to address traffic accident hotspots, tackle unscrupulous traders selling vapes to kids and cracking down on drug-dealing.
Finally, I would like to foster a sense of pride in our town, with a real emphasis on working to make Folkestone a nicer place to live for everyone, through environmental improvements and addressing the scourge of fly-tipped rubbish, litter and broken glass around our streets.
