Mental Health Awareness Day

FMTMN

Not even the weather could dampen the enthusiasm and passion of the caring people, who set up stalls for the Mental Health Awareness Day in the Lanterns area of the town. At every stall there was something new to learn and a story of hope to inspire us.

As well as stalls and a stage for speeches, the listeners were entertained with music and a newly formed choir. Talks and question time sessions were held at the Home Ground Café, which was packed for the duration of the sessions.

The atmosphere of the café and the Lanterns created a sense of celebration for the achievements so far and yet set out the challenges of the future. One of the most memorable learning tools was a picture of a flower with 5 petals, depicting the 5 areas to improve and maintain good mental health. A thoroughly enjoyable day.
