Peter Carroll's campaign to get changes in the way our area is Policed is gathering enormous support from across our area.

Peter explained, "Kent uses Intelligence Led Policing that tends to take officers off visible patrol. Such an approach has its place in tackling certain types of crime - but it is not enough. Many local people are having their lives upset by what the Police think is 'minor' crime and anti-social behaviour. This kind of crime is destroying communities."

In certain areas, like New Romney, the Police have put in dedicated Community Police Officers.

Peter Carroll explained, "I have received a lot of complaints of anti-social behaviour and crime in New Romney. Once the dedicated Community Police Officer got to work there has been an improvement. People out to cause trouble know that he is there to challenge them. This is a major deterrent and is very reassuring to local people. Community Policing works and we need much more of it!."
