More Recycling Call

14 Mar 2003
Recycling
Lib Dem campaigners Peter Smith, David Callahan and Christena Smith are campaigning for better recycling in our area.

Local Lib Dems are pledging to improve recycling across the Folkestone and Hawkinge area if elected to run Shepway Council in May. They believe the Conservative run Council has not done enough to provide a decent service to local people.

Lib Dem David Callahan said, "It is vital for our environment that Shepway improves recycling rates. We should be aiming for a decent and reliable door to door recycling service for most residents."

Many Lib Dem run Councils achieve a much better recycling rate than Shepway. Local campaigner Christena Smith said, "The key to a successful recycling scheme is to make it convenient for local people to use. A Lib Dem Council will work to achieve this."
