New Shepway Council website live...

15 Dec 2010

A new Shepway Council website has gone live at www.shepway.gov.uk which is designed to make it easier to find the key information you want from Shepway Council.

Councillor Tim Prater was asked for his input into the site before it went live, and made a number of suggestions and fixes, a number of which have been included in the new site. Tim commented:

"I think the new site is a real improvement, and congratulations to the Shepway team that have put it together. There are some areas to fix though, and I hope there will be some more enhancements in coming months - for example, it would be good to see County and Parish / Town Councillors (or at least links to the appropriate websites) on the 'My Shepway' pages.

"Reaction from the local residents I've asked about the site via Twitter so far has been positive, but I'd be interested in the views of other people, and will pass on any views to the development team."

Comments received so far include:

"Had a look and find it informative, Traffic reports are good and will come in very handy especially for op stack"

"Get them to configure the dns so you don't need the www!"

"The ability to check refuse collections and ward councillors via the frontpage is good, crisp design, too"

"Love the postcode search facility. Lots of useful information. One point though: would like it to list County and Parish Councillors too."

"It looks MUCH better than the old abomination. However it would have been good if they had finished the site before going live. Almost nothing works within the Council and Democracy section http://tinyurl.com/2btp8gw - it seems the new term for Councillors is now 'undefined'!"
