New Tourism guide showcases Shepway

1 Dec 2010

A new edition of the Folkestone, Hythe & Romney Marsh holiday and leisure planner is in circulation. Following its launch last month to showcase Shepway's tourism potential to major UK and foreign tour operators attending London's World Travel Market (November 8 -11), the 32-page full-colour guide is now in process of distribution via strategic tourist information centres and other outlets in Britain and the near-Continent.

Published by the Discover Folkestone, Hythe & Romney Marsh tourism partnership (DFHRM), it will also be used to respond to postal, telephone and e-mail enquiries and at holiday shows and travel industry events. Said DFHRM manager Chris Kirkham:

"Updated, redesigned and packed with information, the guide will have an important role in the 2011 campaign to promote Shepway as a short break holiday, day-out and leisure destination.

"Although more and more people are using our website to find out what a visit to Folkestone, Hythe and Romney offers, there has been no reduction in the number of requests for printed information. People who do not have access to a computer or who prefer to browse the words and pictures of a brochure make up a huge marketplace which we are not overlooking. Fifty thousand copies of the guide will be distributed over the next few months.

"A new editorial feature is an introduction which describes the three component parts of Shepway: Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh - 'different and distinctive areas combined in one unique holiday and leisure destination'. Other features present a detailed picture of things to do, must-see attractions, places of interest and festivals and events, highlighting those which are especially enjoyed by families and lovers of outdoor and green pursuits. An advertisement section guides readers about where to stay, where to eat and drink, where to shop, what to see and how to get around".
