No Postal Deliveries for a Week - Or More

5 Oct 2007

Royal Mail has said that there will be no post for a week from 4 October following a series of strikes by the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) over pay, pensions and modernisation. The The 48 hour strike starting yesterday at noon will be followed by another two-day stoppage from 3am on Monday.

If there is no agreement by the end of next week, the union has promised a series of rolling strikes starting a week on Monday - October 15. These would involve different groups of workers, such as van delivery drivers or postmen, striking on different days across the country.
