Opening the Christchurch Community Centre
It has taken many years to bring the dream of a Community Centre into a reality, and today I had the great pleasure of performing the opening ceremony at the new Christchurch Community Centre, Folkestone.
Several members of the original planning group were there to watch this memorable event. After the welcome speeches, the children entertained us with recorders and hand bells, which was impressive. The ribbon cutting followed and an excellent buffet was laid on for us all.
The building itself will be an asset to the area and I look forward to hearing how various groups make use of it. This is an example of how a range of agencies can work together to draw down funding sources for the good of the community.
