Others out of the race in Park elections: Only Lynne can beat the Conservatives in November poll
Lynne Beaumont is the clear challenger to the Conservatives in November by-elections in Park to Shepway and Folkestone Councils. In May 2011, Lynne was the closest challenger to the Conservatives. People First & Labour trailed in 3rd and 4th.
With a close result between Lynne and the Conservatives expected again, its clear that every vote will be crucial.
If you want to elect a strong and experienced voice to speak out against the actions of the Conservative Council, then only Lynne can beat the Conservatives.
Campaigner Lynne has kept working for local people since the 2011 local elections:
- standing up to the Government over spiraling fuel prices
- leading the campaign to keep Folkestone's K College open
- speaking out against new Folkestone Parking charges.
Lynne says:
"These elections will not change who leads the Council now - sadly. The Conservatives have an almost complete monopoly of the seats on Folkestone and Shepway Councils. But Park voters can send a clear message to the Conservatives that things MUST change.
"If you want a strong voice for Folkestone then I need your support. I will speak out and challenge the Council. I will fight to see on-street parking charges scapped. Every Council needs a strong opposition. If the opposition vote splits between lots of different candidates, the Conservatives could sneak back in again."
