Local campaigners Peter Carroll and Maggie Barratt are campaigning for action to tackle parking problems in Folkestone's West End.

Local Lib Dem Maggie Barrett is campaigning to sort out the parking pressures in the West End of Folkestone.

In a recent Resident's Survey the pressure on parking was highlighted by local people as a major source of concern. On weekdays local residents cannot park anywhere near their homes.

Maggie said, "During the day the roads in our area are used by a large number of people working in Folkestone as a free car park. I fully understand that these people need somewhere to park but it cannot be right for local residents to be so severely inconvenienced."

The situation gets particularly difficult in the summer months when visitors to the town add to the parking pressures.

Maggie is lobbying the local Council to see if a Residents Parking Scheme could be introduced. She is asking residents who would like to see such a scheme to let her know by signing her petition.
