Following the resignation of Nick Clegg as Party Leader, the Liberal Democrat Federal Executive (Governing Body) last weekend agreed a timetable to see a new leader elected by the party membership and the result announced on July 16th.

On Tuesday, Norman Lamb, MP for North Norfolk and Liberal Democrat Minister of State at the Department of Health until May 2015, was the first to declare that he was standing for the leadership. You can finf his leadership campaign website at http://backnorman.co.uk

On Thursday, Tim Farron, MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale and a former President of the Liberal Democrats, also announced he would be standing. You can find his leadership campaign website at http://www.tim2lead.com

All Party members as of the 3rd of June will get a vote in the leadership ballot, which is a strictly a "one member, one vote" election. Ballot papers and candidate manifestos will be posted to all members from 24 June. Other candidates may, if they choose, announce their candidacy until 3rd June.
