Public Exhibitions on Nickolls Quarry plans
Two public exhibitions have been organised by Shepway Council after revised plans and further information were submitted for the development of the Nickolls Quarry site at Hythe.
The revisions to the original plans include changes to the site layout, the potential inclusion of sports and leisure facilities and the capping of the adjoining sewerage treatment works to help reduce smells. Further information has also been submitted about a range of other issues including phasing of the development, traffic, drainage and potential flood risk.
Plans for the former quarry site include up to 1,050 homes, a new business park, areas of open space and lakes, community facilities and shops.
The exhibitions will give local people the chance to look at the plans, discuss issues and submit written comments. The exhibitions are at Hythe Town Hall on Friday (21 September) from 2.00pm until 7.00pm and at Palmarsh Village Hall on Saturday (22 September) from 10.00am until 4.00pm.
