Gurkha Memorial Stature, Folkestone

On Armistice Day, 11th November, we remember the brave soldiers who gave their lives or suffered for us in war.

Over 90,000 Gurkha soldiers served in the British Army during World War One, of whom more than 20,000 were wounded or killed.

Armistice Day marks the end of the War and is a day to remember and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Read about two brave Gurkha soldiers who both were awarded the Victoria Cross for their actions during the War, Britain's highest military award for bravery.
