Risborough Way Street Light Replacement

25 Aug 2010

After repeated requests to Kent Highways from local Councillor Tim Prater for a number of street light columns in Risborough Lane, Cheriton, to be repainted, Kent Highways have surveyed the lights and found the columns failed their structural tests. The lights are now being replaced with new columns - most have already been replaced, with the remaining 2 to be completed shortly.

Tim Prater commented:

"The columns were badly rusted, and I have been pushing to see them repainted. It's a shame that the older columns - which had an interesting style - failed in structural tests and have had to be replaced rather than refurbished, but I'm pleased action is now being taken."
