Sandgate BIG Weekend - the Sandgate Sea and Food Festival 2012 and more!

There's a fantastic weekend ahead in Sandgate!

On Saturday 25th August, there's a Saga Cruise Charity Auction. Saga have generously donated a luxury 15 night cruise to the Canaries and North Africa sailing on November 2nd and worth a total of £7,000, which will be auctioned in The Chichester Memorial Hall at 6pm.

The Sea Festival kicks off on Saturday 25th from 7.30pm with the fabulous fireworks display sponsored by The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, starting around 9.30pm

On Sunday 26th, the day time fun begins at 10.30am. There are more stalls than ever this year - truly something for everyone! On top of the stalls, live music, Punch and Judy, stilt walkers and more, enjoygreat food and hospitality in our local restaurants & pubs, and visit the famous Beer Festival held at the Ship Inn.

 

An "Arts an Crafts fair" will be held in the Chichester Memorial Hall from 11.00am. until 4.00pm.

The Pirates & Sea Creatures Fancy Dress competition starts at 2pm - don't be late, the judges will announce the winners at 2.30pm. The winners in the two children's age groups will each win a family Rover ticket on the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, and the winner of the 12s - 112s will win a meal for two up to the value of £75 at The Ship in Sandgate.

If you haven't yet got your costume, pop into the Dressing Up Box in Sandgate High Street - there's loads of colourful costumes to choose from!

Why not enter the Custard Pie Throwing championship! Register your team with Richard on 01303 248784, £5 fee per team (teams of 4, over 12yrs). Club/team fancy dress optional - theme: The Sea). Register teams before 2pm

  • · Partying at the Sandgate Men's Club (party night & disco - Saturday, 'Surf Sunday' all day on Sunday)
