19 Jul 2010

The annual Sandgate Sea and Food Festival will once again provide August Bank holiday entertainment.

The event kicks off on Saturday evening (28th August) with live music and the ever popular fireworks. On the Sunday (29th August) there will be lots of entertainment for young and old alike. For the children Charlie the Clown will be in attendance, along with a Punch and Judy show and the Oopsy Daisy Party Bus that will be parked in the lay by. Adults will also find a wealth of entertainment with events on land and water.

You can enjoy the tastes of Sandgate, with Spanish Tapas from Tintos, Mexican Fajitas from Escondido, Nepalese dishes from the Gurkha Palace, Seafood from Chummy's, a barbecue at The Sandgate Hotel, delicious bread and pies from the Sandgate Master Baker on the Rowing Club balcony or pints of prawns and moules mariniere from The Ship Inn washed down with some fine real ales from their famous beer festival.

As well as enjoying a great day of fun and promoting our village by the sea, the Sea Festival will be raising money for their chosen charity, the Chichester Memorial Hall whose management team are fast making this important village facility the hub of the community.
