The fabulous Sandgate Sea Festival takes place this Sunday! A fun day for all the family!

The venue: Granville Parade, Sandgate

Times: 11am - 5pm

There will be live music throughout the day with: KL Music, vocalist Sarah Jane Hassel, The Saltdash Ukulele Group, Electric Tortoise, Rhonda Merrick (a soul-pop-gospel-jazz singer), the Marching band and a steel band.

There will be food to suit everyone: Mexican, Nepalese, seafood, paella, organic vegetarian, bakery, hog roast, ice creams, cakes, candyfloss, teas and coffees etc.

All along the seafront, there will be loads of displays and stands as well as entertainment by stilt walkers, Punch & Judy and Party Mascots and demos by the 95th Rifles.

Subject to the weather, The Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club will be competing in a race.

Other venues to visit:

  • The Ship Inn: holding its annual Beer Festival
  • Chichester Memorial Hall: Arts & Craft Fair (11am - 4pm)
  • The Old Fire Station: open to the public to view Sandgate Society archives and Pop Up Vintage Tea Room
  • HG Wells Exhibition: to see the 'War of the Words' exhibition (11am - 4pm)
  • Sandgate Library: The Folkestone Camera Club will be holding a print exhibition (Saturday & Sunday 10am - 4pm)

Printed programmes are available from various shops and businesses in Sandgate and at Sandgate Library (open 9.30am - 1pm Thurday, Friday and Saturday this week).

ON SATURDAY evening, don't forget to come along to the spectacular Fireworks Display! Sponsored by the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, the display will launch the Sea Festival event.

Monies raised will be donated to the RNLI.

There will be FREE PARKING in Saga Car Park, Enbrook Park

Please tell your family, friends and neighbours about the Sea Festival. This will be a brilliant Bank Holiday event.
