School Snow Closures in Shepway [Updated 1pm]

A number of school closures have been reported in the Shepway area for today due to the snowy weather conditions. Full details of all school closures notified across Kent can be found at http://www.invictafm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=1086852

Schools closing at lunchtime [2nd February 2009]:

  • Lydd Primary School, Lydd is OPEN but if parents who have to drive can pick up children at 1.15pm
  • Highview Special School, Folkestone closing at 12.30pm
  • Palmarsh Primary School, Hythe
  • Elham Church of England Primary School, Elham closing at 2pm
  • Brockhill Park Performing Arts College, Saltwood closing at 12.00pm

Schools closed all day [2nd February 2009]:

  • Brookland Primary School, Romney Marsh
  • Foxwood Special School , Hythe

Details of any school closures will also be announced on BBC Radio Kent and Invicta FM radio.

Kent County Council ask not to make individual calls to either the school or radio station to inquire whether the school is closed as this diverts staff away from providing an efficient service for all.

BBC Radio Kent broadcasts on 96.7FM in west/mid Kent and 104.2FM in east Kent.
