Shepway and Folkestone hit by fraud Council calls scam

Both Folkestone Town Council and Shepway District Council are saying that they have today received reports of people phoning and saying they are from the Council and asking for confidential details and / or payments.

Folkestone Town Council have confirmed that any such call pertaining to be from them is a fraudulent call, and no details should be given.

Shepway District Council are advising that if you are in any doubt you should hang up your phone and call 01303 853000 and they will be able to tell you if the call is genuine.
