Shepway Christmas Waste Collections

SDC
17 Dec 2014

Shepway Council have announced details of their 2014 Christmas service, from waste collections to office opening hours.

Christmas waste collections: Monday 22 December to Friday 26 December 2014

Please check the table below to see when your waste will be collected over the Christmas period. There may be a difference of up to two days to your normal collection day.

For example, if your recycling and food waste would normally be collected on Monday 22 December, it will now be picked up on Saturday 20 December.

Normal collection day Revised Christmas Collection Difference
Monday 22 December Saturday 20 December 2 days earlier
Tuesday 23 December Monday 22 December 1 day earlier
Wednesday 24 December Tuesday 23 December 1 day earlier
Thursday 25 December Wednesday 24 December 1 day earlier
Friday 26 December Saturday 27 December 1 day later

Recycling and waste collections will return to normal on Monday 29 December.

New Year's Day

We will be carrying out collections as normal on Thursday 1 January 2015.

Garden Waste

Collections of garden waste will stop for the usual two week winter break from Monday 22 December to Friday 2 January 2015 (inclusive).

Christmas Trees

We collect (and recycle) all real Christmas trees from the boundary of your property. Simply place the tree out with your normal collection anytime from the 5 to the 30 January. Please note that the tree will be picked up in a separate vehicle to your normal collection vehicle, so it will not go at the same time as the rest of your rubbish. We aim to pick it up within 24 hours of finding out it needs collecting.
