Shepway Council at Christmas

22 Dec 2008

Shepway residents who would normally have their landfill waste collected on Thursday (Christmas Day) will have it collected on Monday 29 December. Collections due on Friday (Boxing Day) will be made on Tuesday 30 December.

There will be no recycling collections on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Residents are asked to store their recycling for the next scheduled recycling day. Please do not put Christmas wrapping paper out for recycling. The quality of the paper and the ink used in some wrapping will contaminate other paper in the load and may mean that it cannot be recycled.

The final day for garden waste collections will be Friday 19 December. Collections will begin again on Monday 5 January.

The council's offices at the Civic Centre and Its housing services in Shorncliffe Road will will be closed on Wednesday 24 December, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. The offices will close at 4.00pm on Wednesday 31 December.

Christmas trees can be put out for recycling on the same day as garden waste collections up until Friday 16 January. Trees can also be taken to Wyevale Garden Centre, Jointon Road, Folkestone, for recycling.

The council's out of hours emergency number is 01303 221888.
