Shepway Primary Care Trust (PCT) Ratings Announced
Shepway Primary Care Trust (PCT) has been awarded two stars (out of a possible three) by the Healthcare Commission in the latest performance rating for Primary Care Trusts nationally. Shepway met all eight of its Key Targets:
- Access to a GP
- Access to a Primary Care professional
- Drug misusers accessing treatment
- Elective patients waiting longer than standard
- Financial Management
- Four week smoking quitters
- Outpatients waiting longer than standard
- Total time in A & E: four hours or less
In addition, the PCT scored very well across the board in all the health areas laid down under the Healthcare Commission's performance assessment. Ann Sutton, Chief Executive of Shepway PCT said:
"Staff in the PCT have worked hard over the last year to provide the people of Shepway with effective and efficient health services. I would like to thank them all for their dedication and hard work.
"We rated particularly well in the area of Improving Health which includes services like Cervical Screening, Diabetes Screening, Flu Vaccinations, Infant Health and Teenage Pregnancy. In fact, throughout the Performance Assessment, in which every aspect of the PCT's work is rated on a scale (1 being poor and 5 good), Shepway PCT scored 3 or higher in every single category. I believe we can be proud of our achievement.
"We will continue to work with our partners to improve services for the benefit of the population of Shepway."
