Shepway team help out in Key Kent By-election

21 Jun 2007

Shepway Lib Dems have been amongst the first to assist in a key Kent County Council by-election in Maidstone, caused by the sad death last month of County Councillor Margaret Featherstone. The by-election for the Maidstone North East Division will be held on 12 July.

A team from Shepway including Tim & Season Prater, Neil & Sam Matthews and Darren Briddock visited the by-election and helped out on Wednesday night, with Peter Carroll already having been there helping during the day!

Shepway Local Party Chair Tim Prater said:

"Despite the really sad loss of Margaret, the mood of the campaign is really positive, and we were pleased to be able to offer support from Shepway to the local team. More help would be really helpful however, from delivering, to canvassing - in person and by phone - to clerical help.

"If you can help in the Lib Dem by-election campaign in any way please call organiser Rochelle Harris 01622 726528 or email rjh44@blueyonder.co.uk - there will be something to do every day up to and including 12 July, and they would really appreciate the help!"
