Southeastern train service update: severe weather warning 31 January

Southeastern train

Severe weather is forecast for this evening with high winds and more heavy rain predicted for the South East.

The safety of our passengers is our highest priority and with the risk of trees falling on to railway lines, flooding and landslips, Network Rail has put in place a 40 mph speed restriction across parts of the Southeastern network. This will take effect from 8pm tonight (Friday 31 January) until the close of service.

We will work hard to provide the best possible service, however because of the speed restrictions trains will run slower than usual and some will be delayed or cancelled at short notice.

Should high winds affect Kent, SE London and East Sussex overnight, Network Rail will need to check the tracks at first light, look for damage to line side equipment, clear debris and fallen trees so services on Saturday may also be affected.

Please allow additional time for your journey and before travelling please check on Telephone 01732 378 751 0845 000 2222 www.southeasternrailway.co.uk, or National Rail Enquiries Telephone 08457 48 49 50 www.nationalrail.co.uk before travelling.
