Southeastern Travel Update: Planning a full service on Friday 17 December. Maybe.

16 Dec 2010

This just in from Southeastern: "Southeastern has been advised by Network Rail, who has responsibility for keeping the track clear of ice and snow, that we can run our normal timetable service for Friday 17 December.

"The weather is forecast to be very cold overnight with a heavy frost and potential snow showers. Network Rail will have de-icing trains out overnight and we will be running 'ghost' trains on their behalf to endeavour to prevent the formation of ice on the tracks.

"Despite all these efforts, there may be some disruption as a result of the weather in the early hours of the morning. For the latest information on what services are running please visit the Southeastern website at www.southeasternrailway.co.uk

"Our online service status chart will provide a summary of all service routes. It will also say if any lines are closed completely. We will keep our website up-to-date and encourage passengers to check it before travelling."
