Southeastern Travel Update: Service for Saturday 4 December

3 Dec 2010

An update from Southeastern trains reports that they will be aiming to run the planned Saturday and timetable for this weekend, including all engineering work originally scheduled to take place.

They warn that these services will be subject to delays and last minute cancellations due to the weather conditions overnight, which is forecast to include freezing rain which can cause problems with conductor rail icing. We will be working throughout the night to run 'ghost' trains and Network Rail will be running de-icer trains to ensure we have the best possible chance to provide a service for passengers.

There are some lines of route which will not have any service over the weekend including:

  • Bromley North to Grove Park
  • Sittingbourne to Sheerness
  • Medway Valley line
  • Elmers End to Hayes

All passengers with a valid Mainline ticket will be able to use the High Speed services at no extra cost on Saturday 4 December. Passengers are advised to use their judgement on what the weather conditions are like over the weekend and if they do decide to travel, leave extra time to complete their journeys.
