St Martins School Safety Barrier Repaired
The pedestrian safety barrier outside St Martins School on Horn Street in Folkestone has been repaired. The barriers had been damaged for some months, and were fixed after a report from Cheriton Town Councillor Tim Prater to Kent Highway Services.
Tim Prater commented:
"The safety barrier was badly bent after an accident outside St Martins school last year. The barrier was clearly less secure than it was and obstructing the narrow footpath, blocking access for wheelchairs and buggies.
"I'm pleased to see the barrier now been repaired, but it's essential now that we look properly at road safety on that section of Horn Street. There have been a number of accidents due to the amount of traffic at school times, speeding drivers and sometimes bad driving."
