Stephens: Confused. Where are the swings?

Sandgate Valley Councillor Kurt Stephens has been promised by Shepway Council that new swings are on their way for the Golden Valley Park, near Fremantle Road and Brambley Crescent.

Kurt raised the absence of swings in the park after a recent visit. Kurt said:

"There are no swings on the swing frame. I am concerned that, aside from there being no swings for the children, this structure could encourage older children to climb it with the potential of falling and injuring themselves."

Shepway have been back in touch with Cllr Stephens this morning, and have reassured him that the swings will be replaced soon. They said:

"The swing seat and chains were removed due to the swing hangers being faulty. we have been unable to replace the swing hangers, we have therefore ordered a new swing set to replace the old set.

"The new swings should be installed in six to eight weeks time."
