Folkestone Sports Centre has decided to re-introduce ladies only swimming during school holidays on a trial basis in the forthcoming half term break. The decision follows representations from a group of lady swimmers who felt that it was wrong to suspend their sessions during holidays. The ladies asked local Lib Dem spokesman Peter Carroll for help.

Peter explained, 'When the ladies asked for help I convened a meeting with the Sports Centre manager Tessa Stickler. She was exceptionally helpful and has agreed to bring back these sessions. I hope that bringing the ladies only sessions back during school holidays will be a success.'

"The key to keeping the ladies only sessions will be for all lady swimmers who can to make use of the sessions."
