Liberal Democrats are celebrating winning control of Shepway Council

The Liberal Democrats are celebrating winning control of Shepway Council and sweeping gains across the whole area. The new composition of Shepway Council following the 1st May elections is Liberal Democrat 29, Conservative 16, Labour 1.

Campaign Manager Shaun Roberts thanked voters across the area for supporting the Liberal Democrats as the Tories were swept from seat after seat.

If the result on May 1st was repeated at the General Election, Michael Howard would lose his seat to the Liberal Democrats. Labour had an awful night gaining just one seat on the new council, confirming their position as out of the race in Shepway.
