Declaration of Results - Sandgate and West Folkestone (Folkestone & Hythe District Council)
Sadly the Liberal Democrats failed to gain other seats across the district.
Tim commented:
"I'm humbled and honoured that Sandgate and West Folkestone have put so much faith in Gary and me. We'll continue to work to deliver for them. I was amazed at the level of support: I simply couldn't have conceived a majority of over a thousand and the highest percentage of the vote of any Councillor in the district, but that is what we seem to have done.
"With the collapse of the Conservatives to just 5 seats, the Green Party having 11 and Labour Party 10 seats, no one party has a majority.
"I look forward to seeing a new Council leadership emerge, and hope and trust it will deliver for our district, starting with immediately cancelling the Princes Parade project. We pledged we would Save Princes Parade. We now can."
