The Chair's Big Sleep-Out!
I’m delighted to share that we raised £1,300 from our sleep out last night! Thank you to everyone for your generous donations.
After our Full Council Meeting, we set up camp in the Quad at the Civic Centre. We were visited by the Rainbow Centre Chair of the Trustees, Peter and his wife Sarah around 10pm.
It’s certainly an ‘eye opening’ experience to sleep out at the end of November. We all had plenty of layers and were warm enough, but also grateful that we could pack up and go home when the birds woke us up at 5:30am. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to sleep outside night after night.
I know the money we raised will be used wisely by the Rainbow Centre to support the homeless people in our District. Thank you for all the work they do.
I would also like to thank Cllrs Jim, Tim & Polly for taking up the challenge with me last night!
If anyone would like to donate now, the Rainbow Centre would continue to be delighted for the support https://www.justgiving.com/page/fhdc-chair-bigsleepout
