Tim Prater, Liberal Democrat Group Leader at Folkestone and Hythe Disitrict Council, commented:

"In May 2019, the Liberal Democrats got two District Councillors elected in Sandgate and West Folkestone, one Folkestone Town Councillor and one Hythe Town Councillor, and three of those four Councillors were me! Since then, our groups have grown on both the District and Folkestone Town Council, and we're working to grow further in May.

"Its perfectly possible that the Conservatives will no longer be able to lead the District Council after May. They can be beaten. Every vote for the Lib Dem team is for a new, progressive Council leadership to replace them.

"A progressive Council leadership that would Save Princes Parade.

"A Council that would change the system to listen to all Councillors, not just a select few on Cabinet.

"A Council that delivers on a pledge to build many more council homes for our area.

"And Council that would fix a budget that is currently propped up by spending savings from previous years.

"It's for the voters to decide. But the Liberal Democrats are looking forward to this election in Folkestone and Hythe more than we have for years."
