Menzies (Ming) Campbell

It's been an exciting few weeks!

Having been selected to be the Lib Dem candidate in Cheriton, we've been working hard to get our message out across the ward and speak to local people. With 5 candidates (ourselves, Conservative, "People First", Go Folkestone and Impeach Tony Blair(!)) it'll be an interesting campaign, but we are getting a good reception, and there are lots of good signs - including a lot of people helping - thanks!

If you can help deliver or canvass in the next 2 weeks, or help by delivering, telling or reminding people to vote on polling day (March 23rd) we'd love to hear from you! Please don't wait to be asked - give me a call on 07956 276118.

Just got back from Harrogate conference a couple of days ago, where the Party was greeting Ming as the new leader. Conference was upbeat (if snowbound - Harrogate was a slippy place to drive on Friday!) and I was pleased to be interviewed by BBC Kent on Monday asking for a view on conference!

What was also good about Harrogate was to see a new face from Shepway come to her first Federal conference - Maureen.

Conference is a fantastic way to learn more about the Party. even if you've never been before, then please consider coming along - if even for a few days - to Brighton in September. I warn you, they are addictive - I've missed only 1 in the last 12 years!

For a "closer to home" experience, you can get a taste of conferences at the South East Regional Conference in Eastbourne on 25th March. With speakers including Simon Hughes MP, Norman Baker MP, David Laws MP, Lord McNally and both our local MEPs its a good place to meet up with other campaigners from across the region, debate important issues, attend training and more! Members should contact Season Prater (phone 01303 210300) for a registration form - all members welcome, and I'd love to see you there!
