There are times where politics has no place. This is one of them.

UKIP Poppy wreath
UKIP Poppy wreath at Folkestone's Garden of Remembrance at the Dedication Service on Sunday 7th November

Spotted this Sunday in Folkestone's Sandgate Road Garden of Remembrance - a poppy wreath with a UKIP logo at the centre. Can anyone possibly think that Party politics and logos are appropriate as a part of Remembrance services? Really?

I've never seen a Labour, Conservative, Liberal Democrat or other Party wreath, although I have seen representatives, Councillors, Mayors and members from all those Parties laying wreaths and remembering those who have fought for us. And quite right too.

Remembering the fallen is a solemn duty. And I have nothing against Party campaigning - it be be hypocritical for me to say otherwise. But doing both at same same time is a disgrace, and I hope the UKIP member or members that placed that wreath replace it with a rather less controversial version: fast.
