Time to help 'forgotten' pensioners says Peter
Peter Carroll and local Lib Dems are fighting for a fair deal for pensioners across the Folkestone & Hythe Constituency. Older people have been hit by low pensions, means testing, post office closures and rising Council Tax bills.
Peter Carroll said, "When the Tories ran the country they broke the earnings link with pensions, introduced the Council Tax and closed many post offices."
"Now under Labour, we see more means testing, low pensions and even more post office closures. It's just not good enough."
A fair deal
The Lib Dems are proposing to give a big boost to older people by increasing the pension by £100 a month starting with over 75s - who are often the poorest pensioners. They will also introduce free care for the elderly and abolish the Council Tax which will help millions of pensioners.
Peter Carroll said, "Only the Lib Dems will deliver a fair deal for local pensioners."
