Tory Tax Hike For Shepway

Council Tax for local residents is going up by over 15% this year. This latest tax rise by the Conservative run local Councils mean Band D residents will see their bill rise over the £1000 mark.

Lib Dem Councillor Gill Jenkins condemned the rise saying, "The Conservatives have made a mess of our Council's finances. At the same time that they are bringing in this rise, they are also cutting services! It is time we had new leadership here in Shepway."
