Update from the Rainbow Centre
The following update, regarding the Rainbow Centre, has been sent out by John Burgess, the Manager of the Homeless Support Service to various stakeholders:
"Please note that the Homeless Support Service is implementing some changes in response to the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak.
We are delighted to hear that Folkestone and Hythe District Council have placed those individuals who we know to be rough sleeping, into emergency accommodation.
Currently we are looking to work with existing clients and will do this remotely via a telephone advocacy service, and so there is no access to the Rainbow Centre for clients of the Homeless Support Service. We are, therefore, unable to provide clients with shower and washing facilities at this time.
We are looking at making arrangements for our rough sleeping clients who have their mail sent here, to be able to collect it.
If you are looking to contact the Homeless Support Service or require any further information from the Rainbow Centre, please ring me on 07841 033142.
Please note that these arrangements may be subject to change or withdrawal at short notice.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for the continued support you provide for our mutual clients and I hope we can all return to a full service as soon as possible. I wish you all the very best for the difficult times ahead."
It's great news that the District Council is housing those in need. If there are any further updates, we'll publicise them.
