Vandals Must Not Win Say Local Lib Dems

15 Nov 2002

The recent destruction of equipment in the childrens playground at Canterbury Road Rec has been condemned by local Councillors Paul Marsh and Brian Copping.

Paul Marsh commented, "It is shameful that vandals have destroyed the play equipment, but you can be sure the local Lib Dem team will be pushing for the Council to replace the equipment that local people campaigned so long for."

Brian Copping added, "There is no way we can allow the vandals to win! If they ruin something we must fight back by building something bigger and better."

"Vandalism like this, and other anti social behaviour only go to confirm our belief that we need to invest in more "Bobbies on the beat" and Community Wardens."

"We know that this is what many local people want and residents can be sure that the local Lib Dem team will be continuing our campaign to ensure the 'powers that be' make resources available to combat crime in our area." said Cllr Paul Marsh.
