Veolia Water Lift the Hosepipe Ban

9 Jul 2012

Veolia Water South East is from totday lifting temporary use restrictions (ban on the domestic use of hosepipes etc). These restrictions were originally introduced on 5 April after months of below average rainfall. Now an unusually wet spring and early summer with well above average rainfall have opened the way for the lifting of the restrictions.

The principal water sources are local chalk and gravel aquifers and these sources have now recovered to near long term average levels. Veolia Water South East say they are therefore confident that no further restrictions will be needed this year.
