Vikki Slade MP at LGA Conference in Harrogate

Just back yesterday from only my second LGA Annual Conference and Exhibition.

This year was Harrogate, where I was delighted to see so many more Liberal Democrat councillors than before, and listen to and learn from examples of action from Councils across the country. One good idea borrowed could be worth the investment in going and time alone.

In particular, It was really great to be able to hear Vikki Slade MP speak to the LGA plenary session in her new role as the Liberal Democrat Local Government, Housing and Communities Spokesperson. I first met Vikki as the Leader of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, and she was this July elected as an MP - one of the 72 Lib Dem MPs elected!

Vikki, and many of our new MPs, know local government very well indeed, which is great news for Councils and residents across the country.
