Visit by a Nepalese School to Folkestone

FMTMN

Councillor Dhan Gurung has been working with an ex-teacher on this interesting visit by children and staff from a school in Nepal. The headteacher introduced her pupils and her supporting staff when they arrived at the Folkestone Town Council Offices.

After a brief chat, I led the whole group to the Mayor's Parlour, where the children and staff asked to sit in the Mayor's chair for photographs. I was delighted to answer the questions posed by the group but the children were more interested in trying on the Mayor's hat and ringing the Town Cryer's bell.

Once the refreshments were over, Dhan gathered the group together to move onto their next meeting at the District Council. Tomorrow the group will visit St Martin's School in Cheriton and squeeze in a trip to the Coastal Park.
