Peter Gane: We will fight Weymouth Road sell-off

The sale of Shepway Council land in Weymouth Road, Cheriton next to the Bowls Club has been delayed after massive local opposition. The Council are proposing to sell the land - currently a green space and part of Cheriton Rec - for a housing development of up to 6 houses.

The sale of the land has been opposed by a huge number of residents from Weymouth and Langdon Roads and from many other residents across the area.

Cheriton Councillor Peter Gane said:

"The sell-off has been delayed and a planning application is now expected in March. The Lib Dems will do all we can to fight this sell-off with local residents."
