Your Shepway: Pressure grows on West Country councillor to quit

5 Mar 2008

"Your Shepway" newspaper has reported today that the pressure is mounting on beleaguered councillor Linda Oliver after she missed a key council meeting.

"As reported in Yourshepway, Cllr Oliver, who represents Hythe West, had been urged to resign after moving 180 miles away to Bath.

"But she still takes her allowance of £3,375 a year and need attend only one meeting every six months.

"Now the clamour for her to step down has grown following her absence form Shepway council's full meeting on Thursday, February 21, which debated the tax and budget plans for the next financial year."
