Today was the Folkestone Coastal 10km run - slightly to my surprise I'm delighted to say I completed it!
At the Folkestone and Hythe District Council Annual General Meeting of 22nd May, Lib Dem Group Leader Tim Prater was proposed as Leader of the Council by Connor McConville and Lesley Wybrow, respectively the Leaders of the Labour and Green Parties. He was proposed against David Monk, whose Conservative Group lost majority control of the Council in the local elections on 2nd May.
At the Folkestone and Hythe District Council Annual General Meeting of 22nd May, Lib Dem Group Leader Tim Prater proposed Laura Davison, Labour councillor for Folkestone Central, for Chair of the Council.
Ringgo is the Folkestone and Hythe District Council supplier that provides the website and app that allow local residents to buy visitor permits in CPZ areas (such as Sandgate, amongst others).
Keep Britain Tidy has today revealed the England's best beaches with announcement of Blue Flag and Seaside Awards for 2019 - and Sandgate is on the list for the SEVENTH year running!
Sandgate Parish Council (and Councillors) have had a number of reports over the past few months over concerns on the cleanliness at times of water in Enbrook Stream, which we've followed up with the Environment Agency who are responsible for the water quality. They have been investigating, and have now found (they think!) the cause. we had forwarded them various photos and videos we had been sent, which assisted their investigations.
Until this time last year, I hadn't run since school (and those who knew me at school will know that I ran as little as possible there too). Then last April, I started to diet. In June, I started the "Couch to 5km" to help with that diet. I completed that in August, and have kept up running, a couple of times a week, exceedingly slowly, since. And yes, the diet worked: between the exercise, eating less and drinking less, I've lost about 4.5 stone, and on a really good day, by BMI is no longer overweight...
Below is the Proposal Notice for the inclusion of Eversley Way into the Folkestone West controlled parking zone. The Notice is scheduled to appear in the KM papers on the 10th May 2019.
