Paul Marsh: In Memoriam
It is with great sadness that Shepway Liberal Democrats heard of the death of Folkestone Town Councillor Paul Marsh over the weekend.

I was probably wrong; or at least partly so.
Many thanks to everyone that attended our New Members Welcome Event on Saturday: it was lovely to see you. What's great to see is how diverse (and numerous!) our new members are - astoundingly the Shepway Lib Dem membership has soared by a third since the General Election! If you weren't able to be there, don't worry - we've got another event coming up on 18th July: see below!
Are you a member of the Liberal Democrats? Want to come to federal conference in Bournemouth but struggling with costs..?
The Conservative Government is making a concerted attack on freedom itself.
The Liberal Democrats currently hold two "Federal" Conferences a year: a short two day conference in the Spring (generally the first or second weekend in March) and a longer 5 day conference in September.
There are many great reasons to join the Liberal Democrats. We're the only party that gives real power to members; to shape policy, to choose our leaders, and to make life better for everyone. If you join before 4pm today then you will get a say in who is the next leader of the Liberal Democrats. With two great candidates to choose from, both with clear priorities and visions for the Party going forward, now is a great time to join.
It was great to see a few of our new members at the Shepway Lib Dem new members event in Folkestone on Saturday - thank you to all that came.
New members have been asking about Lib Dem organisations that they can join, and Lib Dem Voice (the most-read independent website by and for Lib Dems - run by a volunteer collective of Liberal Democrat members, activists and bloggers) are running a series of articles about some of those organisations.
Join thousands of people stand up against the Conservative plans to scrap the Human Rights Act. A protest will be held on Saturday 30th May and we need as many Lib Dems out there as possible to make our liberal voice heard.
Unencumbered by a Liberal Democrat coalition partner dedicated to the concept of the European Union, the government is starting to renegotiate our relationship with the rest of Europe.
The Party Leadership campaigns of both Tim Farron and Norman Lamb are both aiming to send representatives to the Shepway New Member Welcome event on Saturday 30th May.
