Petition launched for Military Cross for Walter Tull

Walter Tull was brought up in Folkestone and taught at the Folkestone North Board school, now Mundella Primary School. He became the second black man to play professional football in Britain, when Tottenham Hotspur signed him in the summer of 1909.

Free Family Play Events in Shepway this Easter

Shepway Council are promoting a series of FREE play events taking place over the Easter holidays across Shepway. The sessions are free of charge, funded by the Big Lottery and staffed by three play workers who facilitate games/play for ALL ages.

The BNP are Britain's really nasty party

Last week the BNP candidate penned a rant of some length to the letters page of the Herald. At times of uncertainty including worries about financial security and employment the BNP will always seek to tap into people's fear for now and the future. For a few it is tantalising to show support for this party, perhaps to give the other parties, especially the government a kick for failing them.
