The Highways Agency will be holding an exhibition of proposals for M20 Junction 10A, on Friday 13 June 3:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday 14 June 10:00am to 4:00pm, at Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, Ashford Business Point, Waterbrook Avenue, Sevington TN24 0LH, off A2070 Orbital Park roundabout.

Folkestone Triennial: Fireworks Launch!

Residents from across Folkestone and Shepway are being invited to the launch of the inaugural Folkestone Triennial. There will be fireworks on Friday 13th June at 10.30pm from Folkestone harbour and visible along Folkestone's coastline will celebrate the start of the Triennial, followed by a programme of family events on Saturday 14th June, from 12pm to 5pm, with an official welcome at 12.30pm on Folkestone Harbour.

Can You Help the Lib Dem Campaign in Henley?

Liberal Democrat members across Shepway are being asked to join the campaign team for the Liberal Democrats at the Henley by-election which has now been confirmed for the 26th June. Lib Dem candidate Stephen Kearney and a big team is fighting to win in the seat, which would fall to the Party if we can achieve the same swing as in Bromley 2 years ago.

Major Traffic Accident on A20 Near Folkestone

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been called to a major road traffic collision involving around 30 vehicles on the A20 near Folkestone. Crews from Folkestone, Dover and Ashford were called to the coastbound carriageway near the Roundhill Tunnels at 1.18pm on Tuesday 3rd June, and are currently using hydraulic rescue equipment to free a man and a woman.

Beach Management works during June and July

Shepway District Council in partnership with The Chunnel Group will be undertaking beach management works between Fisherman's Beach at Hythe and Folkestone Harbour in June and early July 2008.

Parking Charges to be introduced at Folkestone West

Southeastern have announced that parking charges are to be introduced at Folkestone West train station. The charging plan, which comes into effect as of 29th June, had not been notified in advance to local residents or Councillors who were shocked at the move and predicted increased parking problems locally.

Folkestone to Cliff End flood and erosion management strategy

The Environment Agency has developed a draft strategy for managing the risk of flooding and erosion along the coast between Folkestone and Cliff End. Through a process of technical, economic and environmental assessment the draft strategy has identified proposed options for each section of the coast within the strategy area.
