Sandgate is more than just a footnote

Local Lib Dem Gary Fuller believes that Sandgate needs much greater recognition when setting Shepway wide strategies and plans, especially with regards to tourism and economic development. Building on the excellent work by Sandgate Parish Council on the Village Design Statement, Gary wants to see a similar Economy and Tourism Development Plan for the Village that will feed into the wider strategy for the District.

It's Time Shepway LED on Streetlights

Local Lib Dem Gary Fuller wants to see a much quicker roll out of LED street lighting in Shepway, rather than what he sees as a continuing programme of savings at the expense of public safety. Gary believes that LED street lighting represents both a cost saving and a green investment in our future. LED street lights use 15 percent of the energy of incandescent bulb lighting while generating more light per watt.

It's time Sandgate went Mobile

Local Lib Dem Gary Fuller has expressed dismay at the seeming inability of mobile phone companies to offer excellent service to Sandgate residents. Gary, who is standing for election to Shepway District Council on Thursday, has noted that the main mobile networks have signal blackspots in various streets in Sandgate, including the Crescent where he lives, and hopes that a solution can be found for residents and local businesses.

20s Plenty for Shepway

Shepway's roads can be made safer for motorists and pedestrians alike if you vote Lib Dem on Thursday. Local campaigner Gary Fuller has helped to set up a campaign to introduce 20mph speed limits on residential streets in Sandgate. If elected to Shepway District Council he intends to widen that campaign to include the entire district.

Nepal Earthquake Fundraising Event in Sandgate

Local restaurant owner Kishore Sapkota is organising a Curry buffet dinner at his restaurant the Gurkha Palace in Sandgate Valley this Monday to raise funds to support Nepal earthquake victims. The Gurkha Palace will provide food and all the money raised will go towards the cause.
